DBS/ DDS Basic Installation Tips

For DBS dish to DBS tuner runs, make sure that the coaxial is "swept test" cable and at least RG6. Never use RG59 coax. DC current passes through this cable to remotely power the LNB on the dish. We've seen instances where anything less than RG6 Quad deteriorates over time due to this DC current and the line eventually fails. It's a real problem to go back and re-run cable from the mechanical room, up through the house and to the dish!
