CinemaShop Anti-Boredom Campaign: Great Football Movies
CinemaShop Anti-Boredom Campaign:
Great Football Movies
As part of our anti-boredom campaign and in conjunction with the kickoff of the fall football season, we've listed our favorite football related movies of all time. What's your favorite?
Remember the Titans - Denzel Washington gives his usual solid performance and this 2000 movie is even more relevant today, with all the challenges in our country.
The Blind Side - Sandra Bullock gives an Academy award winning performance, but all of the coach's cameo appearances are my favorite part.
Rudy - Sean Astin gives a solid performance in this sappy, but powerful underdog story.
The Longest Yard - Burt Reynolds stars in one of his most memorable roles - one that he was destined to play. Don't confuse this with the second rate Adam Sandler remake.
North Dallas Forty - Nick Nolte gives one of his best performances in the comedic expose of pro football. The supporting cast is also terrific in a film that's loosely based on the Dallas Cowboys.
Brian's Song - A bit overdramatic, but I dare you not to cry at the end! James Caan and Billy Dee Williams are great together and this has one of the most memorable theme songs in movie history.
We are Marshall - One of my all time favorite sports movies documents the true story of Marshall University's tragic plane crash that killed most of the team and their coaches, plus some supporters. The incredible actions of rival coach Bobby Bowden makes me weep every time I watch this.
Invincible - Mark Wahlberg stars as everyman bartender Vince Papale, who strives to live his dream of playing in the NFL and actually made it in real life- a true story!
