Get an extra blueprint, if possible, and use it exclusively for A/V system designing. Use translucent "dots" on the blueprint to indicate wiring outlets in your home . Homerun all coaxial cable, speaker wiring and telephone to the mechanical room. Try to use "back-boxes" above ceiling speaker locations as the speakers will sound better, you'll keep insulation out of the speaker and it may be required to meet building codes.
